Lash Lift & Tint in Huntingdon Valley, PA

Your natural lashes, curled upward and darkened for a wide-eyed, mascara-free look that lasts 4–6 weeks — using professional Elleebana.

A lash lift is the low-maintenance alternative to lash extensions. Using your own natural lashes, the treatment lifts and curls them from the root upward, creating the appearance of longer, more defined lashes that frame the eyes — no extensions to maintain, no risk of damage from adhesives, and no daily curler needed. Add a lash tint and you can leave your mascara at home entirely.

What Is a Lash Lift?

A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that uses a chemical solution to permanently alter the protein bonds in the natural lash hair, reshaping it into an upward, curled position. Unlike a lash perm (which creates a rounded curl), a lash lift creates a straight upward lift from the root that makes lashes look significantly longer and more defined while maintaining a natural appearance.

At SkinArt Aesthetics, lash lifts are performed exclusively with Elleebana — an Australian professional lash system recognized internationally for its reliable, consistent results and lower chemical intensity compared to many competing systems. Elleebana’s formula includes a built-in nourishing component that supports lash health throughout the process.

The treatment uses your own natural lashes. There are no extensions, adhesives, or foreign materials attached to the lash — only a chemical restructuring of the hair you already have.

What Is a Lash Tint?

A lash tint is a semi-permanent dye applied to the lashes to darken them for 3–4 weeks. It is particularly effective for clients with naturally blonde, light brown, or gray lashes whose tips fade to an almost invisible color. A lash tint combined with a lash lift gives the effect of wearing mascara every day without actually applying any product.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Lash Lift?

Lash lifts work best on natural lashes that have at least a modest length — lashes that are very short may not have enough surface area to show a significant lift. The treatment is ideal for clients with straight or downward-growing lashes, clients who want more definition without the maintenance and cost of lash extensions, those who find mascara irritating or who want a break from daily eye makeup, and clients preparing for a wedding, vacation, or period of activity where low-maintenance beauty is a priority.

Lash lifts are not recommended for clients who are pregnant, those who have recently received lash extensions (we recommend waiting for extensions to grow out naturally before laminating the natural lash), or those with very fine or compromised natural lashes. We assess your lash health before every appointment.

How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?

A professional lash lift using Elleebana lasts 4–6 weeks depending on your natural lash growth cycle. As lashes shed and regrow (as they naturally do every 6–8 weeks), the lifted lashes are replaced by untreated new growth. Most clients return every 6–8 weeks to maintain their lift. A lash tint added at the same appointment typically holds for 3–4 weeks and can be refreshed independently.

What to Expect During Your Lash Lift

Your lash lift appointment takes approximately 60 minutes from start to finish, including time to discuss your desired curl and lift direction. The treatment is performed with you lying comfortably with your eyes closed throughout.

The process involves cleansing and priming the lashes, applying silicone rods (in the size appropriate for your natural lash length and desired curl), carefully applying a lifting solution that is timed to your lash type and sensitivity, followed by a setting solution that locks the new curl in place. A nourishing treatment is applied as a final step to condition and strengthen the restructured hairs. If a tint is being added, this is typically completed during the setting phase.

There is no pain or discomfort during a properly performed lash lift. Some clients experience very mild, brief tingling from the solution. If you have any sensitivity or discomfort, let us know immediately.

Aftercare

Proper aftercare protects your results and your lash health:

  • Keep lashes completely dry for 24 hours — no water, steam, swimming, crying (!), or sweating
  • Avoid oil-based eye products and makeup removers directly on the lashes
  • Do not use a lash curler after a lash lift — curlers can over-stress the treated hair
  • Sleep on your back or use a silk pillowcase during the first 48 hours to avoid crushing the curl
  • Apply a lash serum or conditioning oil nightly to support lash health between appointments

Full aftercare guidelines are on our Post Care page.

Lash Lift vs. Lash Extensions: Which Is Right for You?

Lash lifts and lash extensions are fundamentally different services designed for different goals. A lash lift enhances what you have: it lifts and defines your natural lashes with a result that looks natural and requires no maintenance between appointments. Lash extensions add volume and length with individual synthetic hairs bonded to your natural lashes, creating a more dramatic effect but requiring fills every 2–3 weeks and careful maintenance to avoid adhesive-related stress on the natural lash.

If you want a big, dramatic lash look: extensions may suit your goals better. If you want naturally enhanced lashes with the lowest maintenance possible: a lash lift is likely the better fit. We are happy to talk through both options at your consultation if you are unsure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a lash lift damage my natural lashes?

When performed correctly and with appropriate timing, a professional lash lift should not damage healthy natural lashes. As with all chemical services, over-processing or using low-quality products can cause dryness and breakage. At SkinArt, we use Elleebana, which includes conditioning in its formula, and we always assess lash health before proceeding. Using a nourishing lash serum between appointments further supports lash health.

Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?

Yes, after the 24-hour no-water period, mascara can be applied normally. Many clients find they rarely want to wear mascara after a lift and tint because their lashes look defined enough without it — but it is absolutely fine to use when you want extra drama. We recommend using a non-waterproof, oil-free mascara to avoid stressing the treated lashes.

Can I get a lash lift if I currently have lash extensions?

We do not perform lash lifts directly over extensions. If you currently have lash extensions, we recommend allowing them to fall out naturally (or having them professionally removed) and waiting until your natural lashes have fully grown back to a healthy state before booking a lift. This protects the integrity of your natural lashes.

How is Elleebana different from other lash lift systems?

Elleebana is an Australian professional lash system known for its reliable, consistent results, its milder formulation relative to many other professional systems, and its inclusion of built-in nourishment. Many practitioners prefer it because it is forgiving to use and produces predictable, natural-looking lifts rather than an overly tight or synthetic-looking curl.

What if my lash lift comes out too curly or too straight?

The curl intensity is determined by the rod size used during your appointment — smaller rods create a tighter, more dramatic curl; larger rods create a subtle, natural lift. At your consultation, we discuss your preferred look and select the appropriate rod accordingly. If you’ve had a lift before and found the result too curl-heavy, let us know so we can adjust the rod size.
